What We Do
BOMA BEST, founded in 2005, is North America's largest environmental assessment and certification program for existing buildings and is internationally recognized for advancing sustainability in commercial real estate. As part of BOMA International's suite of recognition programs, it provides a consistent voluntary framework and practical tools to help building owners, managers, and operators assess performance, optimize operations, and enhance efficiency. Under the BOMA BEST umbrella there are two certification programs:
1. BOMA BEST Sustainable focuses on environmental performance and management, recognizing excellence in energy efficiency, sustainability practices, and overall building performance. It supports the development of healthier, more resilient buildings through continuous improvement in environmental management.
2. BOMA BEST Smart focuses on digital transformation within the built environment. It serves as both a certification and a management tool, guiding owners and managers to optimize operations, enhance user experiences, drive sustainability, and deliver measurable financial value to stakeholders and customers.
